(Perth, Canal Street III). A 15m by 15m excavation began in July 1985 in advance of development. There are three N-S property boundaries within the site which have survived with little change from the earliest period of occupation (c. 1200) into modern times. An amalgamation of two properties to accommodate a multi-phase kiln occurs briefly in the mid/late 17th century. This is probably a malting kiln. Sherds of 13th-14th century pottery have been recovered. No sign of the southern defences of the town were discovered.
