NT40NE 56.02 from 48687 07286 to 48586 07743

Barnes Moss Rifle Range is depicted on the 3rd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Roxburghshire, sheet xxxii) and is depicted on the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map, situated on the NE-facing slope of Dodburn Hill.

The range was 500 yards (480m) in length and the targets were at NT 48687 07743. Firing points were every 100 yards.

A pavilion at c.NT 4845 0768 is depicted on the 3rd edition (ibid).

The range is visible on vertcial air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 433, 3201-3202, flown 24 June 1945).
