The pier to allow materials to be supplied during and after the construction of the coast battery at at The Kames (Calback), is situated on the coast adjacent to the accommodation camp (HU37NE 10.04).
The pier is depicted on Ordnance Survey maps and is also visible on vertical air photographs (CPE/Scot/UK 285, 3430-3432, flown 28 August 1947).
The pier has been recently modified.
