Archaeology Notes

NG45NE 144 5545 3515

The remains of a boat-shaped structure, 4.4m x 2m internally, were recorded here during a field survey of the Suisnish area of Raasay by ACFA, who have conducted surveys on the island every year since 1995. The drystone walls are a maximum of 0.5m thick and stand to a height of 1m. There is a well-defined entrance in the E wall, which is 0.8m wide. Nearby is an area of rig-and-furrow cultivation, 2m wide and running E-W.
