NLO: Sound of Mull [name centred NM 58 46].

Aberdeen, 30th Oct. 'Two vessels are reported to have foundered at the mouth of the Sound of Mull 24th instant, with all hands.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 6896, London, Tuesday November 5 1833.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6860).

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, and it remains unclear at which 'mouth' the vessels foundered. Their loss is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 22 May 2005.
