A shuttered concrete barrel vault roofed engine room is situated about 60m N of the World War II No.2 gun emplacement (ND49SW 27.04). It measures approximately 15m by 6.6m overall with small entrance extensions at each end. The roof has a large canopied vent on the NE side and three slit vents at each gable end with protecting concrete blast shields on top of the extension.
Engine beds with fixing bolts still protruding are extant inside and the corrugated iron shuttering is evident in the roof.
About 7m E of the engine room are an inscribed oil barrel drain next to the top of a buried fuel tank with valves and connections set within a small square concrete base. A small piece of wood remains in situ on the oil barrel drain. The inscription in the concrete on the drain reads:
