(NO 0424 3754) Standing Stone (NR)

OS 6" map (1901)

A massive block of schist 6'8" high known as the 'Witch's Stone'. The top is peaked and the stone is quite vertical.

The Witch's Stone (name confirmed locally) is at NO 0424 3752 (sited incorrectly by the OS) and is as described. It measures 3.5m around the base.

A standing stone, known locally as the Witch's Stone, measuring 1.5m x 0.7m x 2.2m high.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.
