Activities

Field Visit (23 October 1997)

A burnt mound, on a grassy terrace to the S of the Allt a' Choire Bhig. The burnt mound is set on the SE edge of a boggy hollow. It is kidney-shaped on plan, opening towards the SW, and it measures 8.8m from NW to SE by 4.9m transversely and up to 0.6m in height. Lifting a turf revealed heat-shattered stones in a matrix of blackened soil.
