Field Visit (23 October 1997)

This burnt mound is situated in heather-covered ground on the W bank of the Allt a' Choire Mhoir immediately S of its confluence with a small tributary. The burnt mound material is disposed on the NE and SE of a possible trough, forming low mounds up to 0.7m in height. The larger mound, on the NE, measures 6.7m from NE to SW by 5.2m transversely. On lifting a turf heat-shattered stones were visible within a matrix of blackened soil.
