13 December 1878, AMELIE, 6 yrs old, of France, wooden lugger, 27 tons, 2 crew, Master and Owner P. B. Magnier, Gravelines, departed Wick for Gravelines, carrying codfish and salt, wind WSW4, foundered, total loss, 4 miles from Johnshaven, Co. Kincardine.

Montrose, 14th Dec., 10.30 a.m., the AMELIE, of Gravelines, Moguier, from Wick to Gravelines (codfish), sprung leak after leaving, and sank last night, 4 miles off Johnshaven, 10 minutes after crew left her: crew landed at Johnshaven. [Record received incomplete].

NMRS, MS/829/69 (no. 2876).

(Classified as wooden lugger, with cargo of codfish and salt: date of loss cited as 13 December 1878). This vessel foundered 4 miles from Johnshaven. Capt. Magnier.

Registration: French. Built 1872. 27 tons [unspecified].
