Archaeology Notes (24 October 1998)

A burnt mound, lying about 30m SW of a building (NH33SE 41) is situated on the W of a gully in woodland at the bottom of a steeply sloping field about 400m S of Midtown, Buntait. It measures 12.5m across by 1.7m in height and has a slight dimple in its top. The mound is composed of shattered-rocks in a matrix of black soil.
