Archaeology Notes

NN84SE 2 c. 860 435.

(Area NN 860 435) It is suggested (information from Dr T N Johnston to Sir J Murray in the lake survey of Scotland c. 1910) that the island in Loch Hoil may be artificial.

F O Blundell 1913.

There is no island visible on Loch Hoil, and the gamekeeper has no knowledge of one.

Visited by OS (W D J) 29 October 1970.
