19 November 1875, TOWN OF LIVERPOOL, 40 yrs old, of Banff, wooden smack, 36 tons, 3 crew, Master and Owner K. Gordon, Macduff, departed Middlesborough for Macduff carrying coal, wind NE11, stranded 2.5 miles E. of Buckie, Banffshire.

Buckie, 19th Nov., 7.57 p.m., the TOWN OF LIVERPOOL (sloop) (No. 17,995), is ashore at Strathline, and likely to be a total wreck: she is a vessel of 36 tons, bound from Stockton, with coal.

(Classified as sloop, with cargo of coal: date of loss cited as 19 November 1875). Town of Liverpool: this vessel stranded at Strathline (Buckie?) and is expected to be come a wreck. ON: 17,995.

Registration: Banff.

(Location of loss cited as N57 41.50 W2 55.67).

The available evidence for this wreck is confused, the rig of the vessel remaining unverified. Strathline is not noted as such on the 1996 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map evidence, but a location at NJ c. 44 67 may be suggested for this loss.
