Archaeology Notes

NO60NW 49.14 62757 08159

A possible pillbox is situated at the top of a low cliff at the end of the SE-NW runway. The structure is not depicted on the OS 1:10000 chart copy map (1972) but is shown on the current OS digital 1:2500 scale map as a six-sided building. It is also visible on postwar RAF vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK5, 4079-4081, flown 14 April 1946).

Information from RCAHMS (DE), October 2003
