Architecture Notes

Bath Street facades probably by John Baird c. 1830's.

The Glasgow Art Club has owned the premises since 1893, one of its members was John Keppie who designed the conversion into the club and the building of the gallery over the back garden of the two adjoining houses. There is some evidence that Keppie's apprentice, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, worked on the decorative elements of the project.

Photographed by the Threatened Buildings Survey prior to the Club's proposed restoration.

RCAHMS 2007.
