Archaeology Notes

NS87NW 59 from 8010 7573 to 8000 7596

A Roman road from Belstane to Castlecary is thought to have passed across the desolate wind swept Fannyside Muir (NS 80 75), but no trace has ever been found.

Until Crowbank Farm (NS 8010 7573) where it emerges as a metalled farm track about 2 miles S of Castlecary.

J M Davidson 1952.

Information from OS (SFS) May 1975
