Archaeology Notes

NN53SE 13 5614 3160.

(NN 561 315) A single stone 3'10" high with a girth of 6'2" at the base stands in a field just below the farmhouse of Acharn, close to the public road that leads to Lix Toll. It is possibly the survivor of a stone circle. Land stones gathered from the field have been thrown around it.

NN 5614 3160. This stone is generally as described. It was incorporated into the verge when the road was re-aligned. No other large stones are in the vicinity and there were no associated finds.
