Goathill Road and Goathill Crescent have more spacious villas of the early 1900s set in their own grounds, the housing getting later as it heads east, with some good 1930s semi-detached villas. 2 Goathill Crescent, John F. Matthew, 1906 Detached villa with bold cement detail, an excellent example of Stornoway's early 20th century tradition of working in concrete and cement, by the father of Sir Robert Matthew, chief draughtsman and later partner to Sir Robert Lorimer.
