(NN 1205 7278) Tom-Eas-an-t-Slinnean. Grave Yard (NAT)

OS 6" map (1874)

Near Glen Nevis House (NN 12 72) on a mound to the S of the road, is a little burying ground called "Tom-eas-an-t-slinnean" (Knoll of the waterfall of the shoulder). Here lie the old Camerons of Glen Nevis, who bore the patronymic of MacSorlie, a branch of Clan Cameron now extinct. In a corner of the burial ground is an old iron coffin, or mort safe.

D B MacCulloch 1938

The burial place is still used for the descendents of those already interred there. The modern graveyard is a little further down the glen. The mort-safe could not be found.
