Watching Brief (26 October 2017 - 10 January 2018)
NT 27253 76277 AOC Archaeology Group undertook an archaeological watching brief on behalf of Thistle Property Holding Company Ltd., on groundbreaking works associated with the construction of internal and external stairs at 71 Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh.
The groundbreaking works in the interior of the building exposed an older concrete flooring to the north-east and made-ground to the north-west. The exterior outside works exposed only made ground and more modern deposits.
No further archaeological monitoring is required for the rest of the development.
