Note : One of the S.S. Monomoy's boilers can be seen on the beach where it washed in during a storm. South westerly gales bring in very heavy seas into Marwick Bay, and any shipwreck in such an exposed coast will suffer the effects of such violent surges. In March 1985 a storm washed one of the two boilers from the Monomoy up to the high water mark. Since coming ashore this has continued to break up with pieces being scattered along the shore. The location is centred at NGR 322593E 1024010N.
