Archaeology Notes

NT18SW 213.13 1431 8306

A barrage balloon mooring site is visible on post-war RAF vertical air photographs (106G/UK 1326, 5135, flown 28 March 1946) in a field about 200m to the SE of Spencerfield farmsteading.

The site was one of several barrage balloon sites situated around Rosyth Dockyard to assist in the air defences.
