NM48NE 16 unlocated.

A Late Bronze Age socketed axe of 'rib' type, measuring 2 3/4 by 1 5/8 ins, from Eigg, (centred NM 47 86) was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1882 by Prof N MacPherson (Accession no: BN 50).

(Socketed axe of Yorkshire type). Single find. Socketed axe, smooth, cast, but brittle now, green, untrimmed, haft ribs: length 68mm, mouth 27 x 27mm, cutting edge 40mm, weight 155 gms. NMAS BN 50.
