This stone is identified as one of a series traditionally believed to be guide-posts marking the pilgrim way from Green Point to Iona.

T Maclauchlan 1865.

This stone is as described. It is not certainly prehistoric and may be a route marker as suggested.

Visited by OS (JP) 15 June 1972.

Standing Stone, Taoslin: This stone is situated in rough pasture 50m S of the road opposite Taoslin. A rectangular block of granite measuring 0.75m by 0.37m at the base and 2.1m in height, it is aligned NNW and SSE, and has a sloping top, which is highest at the N end.
