OS 6" map, Shetland, 2nd ed., (1903)
An irregular, crescent-shaped enclosure on the summit of rising ground. It consists of a continuous bank of earth and small stones, about 6' wide and 3' above the ground outside but rather less above the solum of the interior. It measures 69' N-S and 73' E-W over the bank. Three later hollows have been formed in its north side.
RCAHMS 1946, visited 1930
This does not appear to be an enclosure but a much robbed turf-covered mound of earth and small stones. The interior of the mound has been removed leaving a stony 'scarp-cum-bank' 0.5m average height round the perimeter. The position of the mound, on the summit of a hill, does not suggest a burnt mound.
Resurveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (WDJ) 19 June 1968.
