A barrage balloon mooring site has been identified from a wartime RAF oblique air photograph (No.1 CAM oblique, x912, flown 21 October 1941) situated in the NE corner of Bellahouston Park. It is not known whether the site has been removed during the post-war period.
Information from RCAHMS (DE), February 2002.
Field Visit (29 March 2017)
Nothing is now visible in an area occupied by Bellahouston Park of a World War Two Barrage Balloon anchoring site, which is visible on an RAF photograph (No. 1 CAM oblique, x912) taken on 21 October 1941. This site was one of an extensive network that protected the population and industry of central Glasgow and the Clyde from low flying enemy bombers.
