(NJ 9574 3042) Earl's Hill (NAT) (Site of).

OS 6" map, (1959)

The remains of the motte, latterly known as Moat Hill or Earl's Hill, stood opposite the west end of the New Inn. It was demolished in the beginning of the 19th century when the Peterhead turnpike was made and its position is now occupied by a small garden enclosure.
