A barrage balloon mooring site has been identified from RAF wartime and post-war vertical air photographs (NLA 14, 611-12, flown 19 June 1941 and CPE/Scot/UK 256, 5391-2, flown 11 August 1947), respectively) in the centre of a field about 270m SE of Long Craig Gate. The mooring site has been removed.
