NJ 9454 0634, 6-8 Castle Terrace. Medieval pits including a cess pit surrounded by a kerb of large stones packed in clay and levelled on the N side by two horizontal timbers, the sides being lined with a fibrous material, possibly heather. Other medieval levels were truncated by a stone-built metal workshop of the 17th and 18th centuries.
