(HY 3194 1567) Standing Stone (NR)

OS 6" map, Orkney, 2nd ed., (1903).

This monolith is 8 ft high, 3 ft 9 ins broad and 13 ins thick at the base, narrowing gradually in the upper half towards a pointed top. Its base is packed with stone.

RCAHMS 1946.

As described by the Commission.

Revised at 1:2500.

Visited by OS (RL) 30 May 1966.

'The Orcadian' in 1903 that the stone was thought to be traditionally erected during the procession of St Magnus cortege.
