This pier at the end of the N embankment reaching out into the Beauly Firth is marked on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1985) and on the OS Basic Scale raster map (ND).

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. The available map evidence (OS AIB) indicates that this pier extends from NH c. 64424 46799 to NH c. 64433 46761.

Field Visit (January 2013)

The pier is of modern steel pile and beam construction, approximately 37m long of curved form. A walkway allows access to a navigation light. The NW face is protected by timber fender formed of round timbers.
