An axe-hammer, 4 3/16 ins by 1 3/4 ins by 1 1/4 ins, found in a kitchen midden at Smoogro (name HY 366 059) was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1920 together with other items formerly in the collection of Lady John Scott of Spottiswoode. (cf HY30NE 10)

Ork 1 (HM), from Orphir, Orkney. Length 3.6in., breadth,
1.8in., section Hornblende (with augite corcs) and albitised
plagepidiorite.
The axe is now in the possession of Huntarian Museum.
