Archaeology Notes

HT93NE 3 9687 3767.

(Area HT 968 376) 'Kru Katherine' is the name given to a small enclosure situated about 200 yards SW of the Baxter Chapel on the west side of the public road. Ashes and a number of pot-sherds are said to have been discovered in a partial excavation made some years before 1930.

RCAHMS 1946, visited 1930

At HT 9687 3766 the amorphous remains of a probable Neolithic-Bronze Age house, denuded by the building of a plantycrub standing at its W edge. The house occurs within an associated enclosure.
