MAID of LORNE ashore on the Stirks [Big Stirk: NM 534 578; Little Stirk: NM 533 575]. Crew safe. Vessel refloated.

Source: Oban Times, April 1896.

The available account suggests that the vessel was recovered, leaving no remains at the point of stranding.

The loss of this vessel is oit cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 10 August 2001.
