Archaeology Notes

NJ76SW 11 c. 73 62.

Five leaf, 2 barbed and tanged arrowheads, a perforated stone hammer, and a bronze flanged axe, all found in the district around Longman, were donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland [NMAS] by James Paterson of Longman.

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1868.

(Wing-flanged axe of Ulrome type). Single find. Flanged axe (?), badly corroded, particularly flanges, black green; length 95mm, butt 19mm, cutting edge 28mm, weight 95mm. NMA (DC 35).
