(NJ 769 490) Idoch Castle (NR) (Site of)

Idoch Castle is supposed to have been built during the 14th century. The last vestige of the foundations was removed in 1850, when a large quantity of human bones and ashes was discovered.

Name Book 1871.

Mr Copland of Edinburgh has provided a translation of item 2869 from the Great Register of Scotland which refers to the Castle and Lands of Idoch.
