Desk Based Assessment (22 January 2018)

Two jetties protrude from the eastern bank of the River Leven at the site of the former premises of William Denny Brothers Ltd. These were constructed sometime after the demolition of the yard in 1964, not appearing on the OS 1:1250 National Grid map of 1964 (NS4074 NW). Photographs from the Sir William Arroll Collection show the jetties in 1984. The northernmost measures 34m from NE to SW by 25m transversely and the other, 10m to the SW, 34m from NE to SW by 7m.
