Catalogue Summary

Notes on the Stained Glass Windows etc. in the Hall of Ardmiddle House, Aberdeenshire, 1873. Printed by G Cornwall and Son's. Lithographers, Aberdeen. With descriptions of windows by Clayton and Bell, London and the frieze after engravings published at London in 1842 of drawings by Kjames Byres of Tonley executed 1760-80 of sepulchural caverns of Etruria apparently also exectued by Clayton and Bell. Descriptions of marbles including Statue of Torquato Tasso by Torelli of Florence, purchased at the International Exhibition, London 1872; bas reliefs by Miller; the Drawing Room ceiling after especially commissioned casts by George A Lawson, London and brackets of Hiawatha and Minnehaha by Miss Mary L White, Aberdour 1867.
