For nearby Rathen House (manse), see NK06SW 57.

NK 0003 6091 A 7% evaluation was undertaken on 22 May 2007 on the proposed new extension to the graveyard. The

graveyard is adjacent to the site of a possible medieval motte and the old parish church of St Ethernan, a medieval or possibly earlier foundation. No archaeological features were evident but the presence of medieval pottery illustrates the possibility of medieval activity on the site.

Report deposited with Aberdeenshire SMR and RCAHMS.

Funder: Aberdeenshire Council.
