(HY 2565 2750) St Magnus's Well (NR)

OS 6" map, Orkney, 2nd ed., (1900).

A spring well, traditionally a healing well, supposed to have been used by St Magnus.

Name Book 1880.

It is known locally as 'Man's Well'. (J Fraser 1925)

RCAHMS 1946.

A fairly recent drystone well-head, surmounted by a disused pump, known locally as 'Man's Well'. The name 'St Magnus's Well' or any healing attributes are not known locally.
