OS 6" map, Aberdeenshire, 2nd ed., (1902)

The church of Kinore stood beside the River Deveron. It was dedicated to St Marnan, who was buried here in the middle of the seventh century.

J Stuart 1859.

A bell was obtained for the church in 1653.

E C Eeles and R W M Clouston 1960.

An inscription on the east gable of the church dates its erection to 1500 but it is supposed to have been built in the early part of the 14th century. The graveyard has been in use for at least 400 years.

Name Book 1871.

A low, grass-covered bank, 1.3m wide and 0.2m high, marks the SE wall of the church, and the SE corner stone is just visible. Only the outline of the other three sides can be discerned, giving the church dimensions of 15.0m by 7.0m.

The graveyard is still in use.

Visited by OS (EGC) 26 September 1961.
