During November 1999, RCAHMS conducted a photographic survey of Cruickness Road, Naval Mansions. The purpose of which was to enhance and augment the existing holdings of the National Monuments Record Scotland.

Build (1904 - 1909)

'In order to provide accommodation for men employed at the works in connection with the new Naval Base at Rosyth, an exceptionally large lodging house has been constructed at Inverkeithing...the building measures 130ft square in plan by 46ft high, affords accomodation for 600 men, and was built for the Rosyth Naval base Mansions Ltd, from the designs of Mr William Williamson, architect, Kirkcaldy...The contract was let to Messrs J A MacTaggart & Co, of 65 Bath Street, Glasgow, and executed to the complete satisfaction of the architect and all concerned'.
