Archaeology Notes

HY40NE 27.01 48141 07789

The buildings comprising the former technical area of HMS Robin (Grimsetter) airfield has now largely been demolished and removed. A modern terminal building now stands on part of the site and most other structures relate to the more recent upgrading of the airfield.

The WW II technical area is visible on RAF vertical air photographs (LEU/UK2, 7117-7121, flown 16 April 1948) which shows a few Nissen huts and other buildings in this area.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE, GS), August 1999.
