Hard-fronted (back missing) album with cloth cover, textured as leather; cloth spine and 58 brown paper pages stitched in plus 2 white index pages, all much damaged, although the newspaper is well preseved.
First page inscribed 'NEWSPAPER CUTTINGS. GLASGOW Sam R Skilling'.
the pages are numbered and indexed, all are filled with newscuttings about Glasgow history and events, mostly relating to architecture, 1920 - 1930.
Bought at Phillips booksale 10 March 1993 per Elizabeth Strong (lot 55) together with newscuttings album no 1. |
