Archaeology Notes

NO88NW 40 NO 84690 85700

(Name cited as Fetteresso). Air photography (AAS/00/08/CT/73-80, flown 16 June 2000) has recorded the cropmark of a possible ring-ditch on a shelf at an altitude of 55m OD. It lies (at the northern end) between two lines which appear to run along the top of a low ridge. These lines do not appear to continue into other fields and their placing may be fortuitous; they may be agricultural rather than archaeological in origin, but there remains a slight possibility that they represent a cursus.

NMRS, MS/712/94.

NO 846 857 Cropmarks of ?ring-ditch which appears to lie between two parallel lines.

M Greig 2000.
