] 3 Kirklee Road and 1 Redlands Road, c.1902, John Archibald Campbell
Quiet Scots Renaissance asymmetrical double villa, in red sandstone with swept eaves and central pilastered doorway. A talented pupil, like his partner J J Burnet, Campbell trained in the Beaux-Arts style at Atelier Pascal in Paris. The partnership was dissolved in 1897. While his 1901 Todhill is Arts & Crafts (see p. 00), his 1902 masterpiece at 163 Hope Street is more vigorously Renaissance (see Central Glasgow Guide).
