Archaeology Notes

Activities

Project (March 2013 - September 2013)

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.

Note (31 October 2013)

The listed Building description notes that the store became a drill hall in the 1880s, it is probable that it was at this time the windows were inserted and the roofline was altered.

The 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map annotates the building as a public hall.

Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 31 October 2013.
