Summary Record (22 February 2012)

The church was built as Comrie Free Church in 1879-81 by G T Ewing. It replaced the church in Burrell Street built in 1843 which became the Comrie Hall. It consists of a simple broad rectangular church with a tall steeple at the northeast corner. Built in a French Gothic style with contrasting hammer dressed masonry and smooth ashlar it sits within a lage site set back from the road. The galleried interior retains its 1881 pews but the south end was re-ordered in 1959 focusing on the communion table rather than the pulpit.

In 1965 the church of Monzievaird and Strowan was closed and the parishes of Comrie and Strowan United. After the closure of Comrie Old Parish Church and its conversion into a community centre this building became the parish church.
