(HY 2788 1933) Tumulus {NR} (site of) : Stone Cist found A.D. 1873 O.S.6"map, Orkney, 2nd ed.,(1903).
The remains of a large mound, now considerably cut up for the erection of farm buildings, lie about 150 yds SE of the farm house of Hackland. A ditch round the west side may be of later date.

The cist was found when 'casting up the foundations of a house ... at the south end of the farmhouse of Hackland'.
Name Book 1880.
A much mutilated barrow of indeterminate dimensions. The ditch referred to be the Commission is probably a modern drainage ditch.
