There is a mound, 40ft in diameter and up to 6t high, beside the garden wall at the farm of Howaback.
Although now covered with turf, the top and sloping sides show signs of excavation, said to have revealed a small square cist containing burnt and partly burnt bones.

This mound is bowl-shaped with well defined sides, it still stands some 1.3m high and will have to some extent been protected from the plough by being close to a building. It measures 9.0m in diameter. Some mound matrix is visible. It is prominent to all sides for c.500m and for 1km to N-NE. The mound has been excavated.
